I am currently working with two colleagues (Brian in NZ and Steve in Aus) on an article about Australian paperweights. Can you help?
We have a lot of information so far, but I am looking for any of the following that we might have missed:

- names and contact details for contemporary paperweight makers in Australia
- details of good articles about Australian paperweights
- and high quality photographs that we can have permission to use

Please let me know if you can help:

I posted your question to a glassblowing board I'm active on and received the following reply from one of the Australians there.

----------------------------
Best way to get in touch with the Australian glassmakers is through ausglass. Its a very active organization and most professional artists and makers will be members. The membership can easily be reached via email through the newsletter editor. Details at www.ausglass.org

Thanks, Sach,
I appreciate your help. Do we have many Australians on this board? It would be nice to meet more of them.
The Aus glass site is at http://www.ausglass.org.au/  I hadn't thought of asking their newsletter editor. Thanks again.

Hi Angela,

I'm sorry to drag out an old thread, I looked for PM details but couldn't find out how to send them.

I only have one Australian paperweight, by a chap called Stephen Morris, he worked for a while in Northern NSW around Byron bay, before moving to Melbourne I believe. I'm sorry but my information is only very sketchy.

I can provide good quality photo's for you if you still need them?

Cheers,
Brendan

Hi Brendan,
Many thanks for your response. We have finished the article on East Coast of Australia, it is currently with the printers. But next year we will be doing Victoria and South Australia and Tasmania. So we still welcome the input. At some point this year I'll get over to Australia and visit some of the artists.
All the very best
