Green & Amber Piece...Chinese or Japanese???...Help!!!...
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:11:11 PM »
Have seen this piece on ebay...

290399985988

Beautiful piece. Would definitely go well with my other Green & Amber pieces. However, the seller has sent me a base pic. Can I post the base pic mod? or is that copyright?.

However, the base has that lovely matte finish i tend to avoid.

Would love some advise on this piece from all the great knowledgeable people on here. Good piece of Japanese Glass or Chinese (no offence to the Chinese makers!)?

If the copyright owner of a photo gives permission for it to be shown here, then that's ok, but please add a comment saying so. Otherwise, no, it should not be shown in the GMB.

Of course, it would be better if the seller just added the base pic to the listing, then everyone could see it.

I don't know about others in the group, but I don't like to advise people on active auctions. It's really between the buyer and the seller. A good rule of thumb is that if one doesn't know what a piece is, then one shouldn't risk too much money. The only exception is if it is apparent that the glass is a very good piece of glass that the buyer likes.

Decided to scrap the thought of purchasing it. Gut instinct said no. I did manage to find another piece that went for $45 cheaper. The base and shape spoke to me! Am very happy!  ;D
