Clear Vase - Crystal
« on: February 14, 2010, 01:02:28 AM »
A lovely looking vase. So simple but beautiful to look at .  The vase measures 15cm in height. the top 9.5cm dia. and the hexagon base from flat to flat measures 7.1cm. Even though the vase is small it is heavy and looks very nice when by a window.  There is rather a large concave pontil that measures 3.7cm dia.   Within the pontil is there is perfectly round rings or ripples.  Can anyone identify this vase as to it's age and originator. Please forgive the quality of the pics.  Getting a bit tired now.  Many thanks

Could be Chippendale (US Glass) or one of the lookalikes. Hard to pin them down as many firms made similar pieces. I have one like this which is marked with the US monogram for US Glass but unmarked could be someone else of course.
