GLASS HANDLED BASKET
« on: February 16, 2010, 09:49:08 PM »
I AM JUST WONDERING IF THIS BASKET IS MURANO. IT HAS A BROWN SPECKED BODY STANDING ON 4 LEGS. THE PONTIL IS ROUGH. IT STANDS   9 INCHES TALL AND THE BASKET DIA IS 4.75 INCHES.

If the pale green tint of the handle is true, I would say it is probably not Murano. I have seen this color -- almost like a tint of bottle green -- in many pieces of glass that I have not been able to attribute. If no one in the Murano group knows, it may help to transfer the message to the general glass board.

That is the colour of recycled glass and the item was most likely made in one of the lesser known Spanish factories.
