Large vase id help
« on: February 22, 2010, 05:27:33 PM »
Hi folks..looking for help to id this large heavy vase. 10 .5 inch high...5.5 inch wide top/mouth..heavy at 3.469 kg..flat polished base. Tiny bubbles within the glass, Cranberry colour at the bottom with large bubble inside the clear base. The top rim is hard to see in the photos, but it is deep purple..the maddening thing is i know i have seen this vase someplace before, possibly a modern piece i have seen ?
Any help appreciated.
Jean

Jablonski's stuff tends to be more ostentatious than your vase (the items I have seen), IMO it is often garish and for want of a better word naf, the quality is sometimes not great even with signed work. I would be surprised if your vase was one of his, if it is, he was feeling subdued that day.

Jablonski signs every piece, even the ones you and I would not be proud of. But there are plenty of less discriminating factories in the region... like Tarnowiecz or Makora or Wresniak.
