controlled bubble vase - Kastrup?
« on: February 25, 2010, 10:39:15 AM »
Hi,
Does anyone recognise this vase design please?  It looks the Orchidevase by Kastrup in the latest Miller's collectables, but there are three lobes/pulled lips at the top.
Thanks,
Marie.

100% not Kastrup.

It's not really my area, but Åseda Glasbruk made similarly-shaped vases...

Hi,
Thank you for ruling out Kastrup, and suggesting Aseda.  Will look into that.  Should have said - it's quite tall; 29cm high.
Thanks,
Marie.

Hi Marie Anne

I have a similar vase that's not been positively ID, mine vase is heavy and same lobes at the top...

Interesting vase. The shape is very like an Aseda vase by Bo Bergstrom, but the diamond, quilted-effect with bubbles is pure Murano. The piece is made by the use of a balloton optic mould. The bubbles are also unusual in that they are much bigger than usual.

I wonder it is a modern piece.

Hi J,
Thanks for showing your vase.  They do look very similar.  I'll watch your thread too and if I find out anything about mine will let you know.
Cheers,
Marie.

Marie

I hate reading back through my posts and it's a miracle anyone can understand me at times...
Not knowing who has made the glass makes it more fun and it may take while but I'm sure we will find out who made them!
