Can anyone help with identifying glass mark and make please?
« on: April 06, 2010, 03:51:29 PM »
Fairly certain that this is a scandinavian piece although that it appears to be made from Alexandrite glass. It is a pewter colour but changes to a purple hue when viewed fron different angles. The bowl is 4" high, 7" across and weighs over 2 kilos. It has a ground and polished pontil and is etched with glass mark B 178'7. I was wondering if it could be by Gunnar Cyren for Orrefors but I would be welcome for any information!

Thank you all in anticipation!

It's not neodymium glass. That is purple in daylight and under incandescent light and changes to blue under fluorescent or halogen lights. It doesn't matter what angle you view it from.
