Topic: My first piece of Vasart,have I got it right?

Absolutely not, Keith.

It is Vasart, honest, read the label, it's correct.
The glass is right, the shape is right, the colours are right. The label is right.

(and I'd never call somebody who can spell "sassenach" corrrectly, stupid!)

Most kind,I just wondered if I'd got the date and number right as when I usually look things up and presume I've got it some one tells me it's a copy or a later piece,mould from another factory etc....been ages since I heard the term sassenach,it was down by the river,Glasgow,many midge bites ago,

I believe the period for Vasart is really quite distinct, Keith. The colours they could get hold of were restricted by the war - which is why Vasart is mostly pastels, while Monart (which came before) and Strathearn (which came after) have bright bold colours too.

I don't think Vasart has ever been copied by anybody. It's (mostly?) free-blown though, I don't think they used moulds.
