Pulegoso ? & Gold Salt
« on: November 27, 2005, 03:09:18 PM »
Small 2.5 inch square salt ?

Many many bubbles but not as many as I've seen in known pulegoso pieces.
I thought at first the gold was dust but looking at the photos it seems to be foil but spread very thinly.

Any info is welcome.

I'm afraid that it's going to be impossible to discover exactly who did this piece. Venini did this shape and technique, as did Seguso and many other companies.

Thank you Laura,
Well thats 2 good companies you mentioned so looks like he's in good company  :D
I have to admit that the big V name did pop into my head when I saw it ....but then wouldn't it be marked ?
You mention only the shape. Would any / all of those companies have used pulegoso and gold ?
Indeed, is it pulegoso ?

Hi,

Yes, I've seen Venini and non-venini items with this shape, combining pulegoso and gold.  Be sure to check the base VERY carefully, in bright light, for a signature.

If you can't find one, it will be difficult to make the case for Venini, as other companies did similar items.
