Pink wine glass, opaline base.
« on: May 15, 2010, 12:33:52 AM »
I have just received this large stemmed glass, (not sure if its a wine glass, seems to be a tad on the large side), it has a label which I've not seen before, has anyone any idea if its Murano, or made be some other Italian company.

It's a lovely soft pink, with the opaline base.

Does it have a ring of nearly clear glass circling near the rim? If it does, it is probably Veritable Opaline, a 1980s Nason company. They made gorgeous opaline tableware. If it is theirs, the glass should have amber fire when you let light shine through it. It is more fiery than most opaline glass.

Thanks Anita,  did'nt see the ring of clear glass at the rim until I put a light on it, and yes it is beautiful with light shining through. :hiclp:
Was very cheap on our local auction site and all the other Murano people did'nt seem to want it, but it looked interesting and the seller said it had a label, so you just can't turn away something with a LABEL :chky:
