Rauschtopaz liqueur decanter - Sandvik?
« on: May 16, 2010, 06:43:28 PM »
It's a pretty close style/colour/quality match for a Sandvik vase I have by E. Hald... so was just wondering if this was at all related.

It's 29cm tall, has an applied foot with polished pontil, and an applied ring around the neck. The mould-blown stopper is hollow.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Just spotted this decanter in a collection of Sandvik glass - might be a design by S. Gate... but further research is needed to clarify.

I don't suppose anyone has Swedish Glass Factories to hand? (It's still on my to-buy list  :-[).

It's been established that it is a Simon Gate design, pattern GS 847 from the 1932 'Stockholm' series.
