As  my paperweight knowledge can be put on the head of a pin and I am really interested in this weight- could the knowledgeable of the paperweight world point me in the right direction, where ever it might lead- please view the current auction up on Trade Me and advise if it is or if it ain't please.

Hi Carol.

The answer is "It ain't."

It is Silesian / Thuringian - maybe from Lauscha, (made 1880 - 1910 period, I think, but perhaps it was made earlier).

Definitely not Baccarat or Clichy. I would have said Thuringan and the same time period mentioned by Alan.

I'm really sure that it is a thuringian weight from Lauscha. Such a lovely piece!
