Topic: Vasart or Nazeing Dish ID = Nazeing

I came across this pretty little dish recently thinking it was Vasart. Having looked at it closely I now have doubts and wonder if it is Nazeing but do not know enough about it to make a determination. Can anyone please help with ID?

Hello John,

It looks like post-war Nazeing to me. A profile image might have helped, and the diameter (should be 7.75" - but I suggest it is probably item 81/2 from one of the working drawing pages entitled "Sundry Art Glass and Dishes".

I have added a further picture and apologies for forgetting the dimensions. It is actually 7.25 inches in diameter.

A survey of my own collection of Nazeing glass suggests that there was a large latitude on sizes in the 1930's. I therefore wonder whether this was also true for the post war pieces, although to date the few items I have collated say not.

NB. I record the actual size at the largest point, whether height or diameter, and do not do any rounding up or down.

Thank you again for the information, Nigel. It is definitely 7.25 inches at its widest. From the distance it looked Vasart but when I actually had it in my hands I thought Nazeing. However I do not have the confidence (or knowledge) to be sure of these guesses, but it is very satisfying when a hunch proves to be correct.
