Jindrich, thank you, that adds a great deal to our understanding. :)

Sue, Rosie's in the UK too from her logged IP address, so you may well be onto something.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Yes Sue, I am indeed in the UK (West Country in fact).

Also, regards to everyone for the help and interest I have received. I am learning all the time.  :)

Hi,

Although I think Sue may well be onto something, it might equally be observed that it could indicate these were made for export....and that could include from Czechoslovakia ;) :)

Very interesting information Jindrich, many thanks.

Thanks for pointing out that important caveat, Nigel.  :-*

I wonder if they are related to these? http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-2833

The ashtrays come in blue or red versions too.

I don't really think so, the vases are very fine glass - and only very, very thinly "flashed" before the cutting. I reckon there is some age to them, whereas this looks just a bit more contemporary.
I may be completely wrong - it has been known. :pb:

I thought I'd add my vase into the mix too, as it's identical to yours Rosie, so we know there are at least 4 in the UK!  I bought it on Ebay a couple of months ago from someone based in Glossop in Derbyshire.  It was sold as Bohemian and I thought (and still think) it was lovely wherever it's from, and a bargain at £4.99.
And Sue, I'd be curious to know the asking price for the one you saw in the  antique centre ......

£20, and I think a wee bit of damage - chips at base. I doubt though, that the person who is selling it knows anything about it - they're not any particular glass person - they sell different things, so I imagine the price is one of those "think of a number" ones.
