amethyst compot/comport marked "Germany"
« on: April 07, 2012, 05:30:08 PM »
Hello All,

What can you tell me about this deco-ish piece?  I am hoping it dates from the 30's.  I did find two  similar  bowls, one from Glasfachschule Zwiesel in Rubinglas, and one in light yellow from the Weiner Werkstatte

It is 9 1/2"  across the top, 5" tall and 4 3/4" across the base.
The foot is hollow and open to the bowl, the rim has been cut and perhaps ground but not polished.
The bottom has the mark "Germany" in an oval.

Thanks for looking,

Adair
