Help with ID of Vase - ID = Whitefriars soda vase 9595
« on: July 05, 2010, 12:26:34 PM »
I bought this at a Car Boot Sale recently thinking it was Scandinavian, possibly Riihimaki, but now that I've got it home I do not think it is that. It has a quality feel to it but having seen pictures of Riihimaki range in an earlier post I am now stumped. Can anyone help, please. The vase is a smokey blue-green and stands 7.25 inches high.
Many thanks
John

I can think of several factories who made similar items - including Iittala (Kaj Frank) - and the colour is right. So keep your fingers crossed. If not confirmed, then think Germany.

Looks like a Whitefriars Soda vase to me, cat. no. 9595 to be precise. Have a look at the catalogues on the whitefriars.com site. Colour is possibly 'Shadow Green'.

Just found it on the .org site here: http://www.whitefriarsorg.org/a2-information/a2a-soda/profile_page_9595.htm Dimensions match so it looks like it's a good one :)

Thanks Steven
You just beat me to it by seconds. I too found the catalogue at whitefriars.org. Definitely identical in shape and dimensions. Colour would be Shadow Green I presume. It's a beauty. Many thanks.
