Please could someone help me identify poss Monart Vase
« on: June 23, 2010, 05:21:11 PM »
Hi!
It would be great if someone could help me identify the makers of my lovely vase.  It has the feel of Monart, but I am unsure.

Many Thanks for any help received.

Kind Regards

Hello,

Firstly, welcome to the GMB :)

From the photo you have posted my instinct says 'not Monart', but I think we need to see a profile shot and another of the base before it can be confirmed one way or another, please.

Thanks, Nigel

Hi!

I am having some trouble getting the file small enough to load onto the page.  Any suggestions?

Hi Nigel!

Thanks for the welcome.  Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you.  I have taken a couple of pics.  Just for info, the base has several 'dots' on it.  Does this help?  Once again, thanks for any help.

Think I have managed to do it!!

Kind Regards

Try this for help with resizing http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6522.0.html. With pictures that large, I only get a corner on my screen and any detail is fuzzy.

Over-large images resized again. Please keep the longest size less than 1000 pixels as your images are causing technical problems on the board. If you need help resizing, after reading the topic Christine linked to above, feel free to email me directly.

Hi!  Thanks for the info. about the vase Frank

Also, thanks for the info w.r.t file size.  I did resize, and the files have a size less than 100k, so I am unsure why they are causing a problem.  Thanks for the instructions though, I will give it a go.  If I have any probs, thanks for the offer for me to email direct.

Thank you all.  I'm new to this messaging lark, but have loads of pices of glass so you may see alot more of me.

Kind Regards

What you did was to lower the resolution of the photos. This lowers the number of kBs but means that the photo is physically huge. Use high resolution photos so we can see the details clearly and then resize as described in the link or by reducing the image size in another picture editing program so the longest dimension is about 700 pixels.
