Vladislav Urban- SKLO UNION
« on: June 26, 2010, 07:50:37 AM »
Hi Sklo Union fans. I have a good news for you.
I spent 8 hours with Mr. Vladislav Urban (* 14.3.1937) yesterday and I got from him all backgrounds for correct and complete attribution of all his pressed glass designs.

Mr. Urban has helped me also to attribute many others not-identified pieces from great M. Newhall's Sklo Union database (www.sklounion.com), I will sort it an place the recent discoverings to my web.

For the meantime only two popular pieces - very popular vase Rosice 1292 was designed by Mr. Jiri Zejmon (1925 - 1987), interesting Rosice - 642 is Urban's "baby". I wish my day has 50 hours, so many exciting informations

Wow, well done. What an excitng day Jindra! It was good of Mr Urban to be so generous in sharing some of his glass knowledge with you. It sounds as though you both got on very well....  I look forward to your website update with more details soon!

Especially for you bOBA one from Urban's pieces designed for Skrdlovice (do not start browsing, never produced only in prototypes).  ;D

Everybody who was involved in glass design in 1945 - 1990 had made something in Skrdlovice, also Mr. Vladislav Urban made some designs in 70ties. He designed free formed glass also in late 50ties and begining of 60ties for Mstisov.

At the last picture you can see our nice collegue Max in his very happy moment  (with plaster models for Urban's Moravia vases - Rosice - 1508, 1969.)
