Uranium glass dressing table set - ID = Sowerby 2697
« on: June 27, 2010, 10:06:01 AM »
The OH picked up this part dressing table set last weekend. It's a little battered and incomplete but I've never seen its like before. It also weighs a ton. My instincts say Walther because the colour is spot on with other pieces I have, but I can't find it the online catalogues or on Pamela's site. Any one got any thoughts. Excuse the fuzzy pix, insufficient light I guess.

I've the same tray and either a pot or ringholder (or possibly both!) in clear glass, Christine, but have no idea who made it yet. It's one of my mysteries still.

Ooohhh lovely thank you Christine :kissy:  :rah:

Seems to be a tray, 2 candlesticks, one large lidded pot, 2 small lidded pots (no finials on either size lids) and a ringholder, but I also have a pic of one set with what appears to be the same shaped large pot with a finial knob on top (in clear) but which might, of course, be a marriage.

I have ref pics of it in clear, unfrosted pink, unfrosted green, and now I can see your frosted green too...

Meanwhile, here are some quick and dirty pics (in not too good light conditions!) of the clear versions showing the pot and the ringholder...

My pot definitely has a finial. I'll measure it later.

Oops! I didn't notice your finial... so there are three pots then... small and large without finials and one with finial...  I'll compare your pot size with mine when you've done it. Shall have to dig mine out of the box to measure it too!

Pot is 4.5 inches longwise and 3.5 shortwise

If you're in tomorrow afternoon, Keith will drop them off

Arrgghhh won't be here Christine, have to whizz out now to printers to collect the magazine and then get it to the distribs, so will be out most of the afternoon. Wasn't around last night either so only just seen your note above.
