since acquiring this earlier today, I have had it down as Sowerby Rubine - Brockwitz - Davidson or one of the red Carnival pieces. I've looked through Pamela's Brockwitz calalogue completely - and thought it looked like the Zurich and Ariadne type ruby bowls with the toothed top edge, but no joy. 9.25 inches maximum across the top, and about 3.5 inches high. Really is a corker of a pressed bowl, especially with the light behind. Think the main outline pressed design is a 'Star of David' - yes/no? - but despite cooking the brain for a couple of hours can't really decide on a correct name for the six part curved top rim (how about 'hexafoil')

. Reasonable amount of wear on the base, and some internal scratches, as you would expect from something that may be 50 - 80 years old. I expect many of you will know it's provenance, so would be very grateful if someone is able to let me know, and as always thanks for looking. cheers.
