Walther deco pink Glasgow comport bowl
« on: June 30, 2010, 07:51:18 PM »
Hi everyone!
I have just aquired this wonderful seldom seen Walther Glasgow comport bowl in a lovely soft pink frosted glass.
Does anyone have any other colour of this bowl? I used to have the blue version but an accident put paid to that and I never thought I would seen another again!
Best wishes Nige

Wowsers, that's really lovely. I have never seen one before and I thought my Mum had all the Walther!

Congrats on yours too, Nige - pink is always wonderful!
Unfortunately  mine has a heavy stress crack line in the bottom, however, it is good to own one at least

Yes Pamela it is good to own one! I wish I still had my blue one but it got smashed when one of my display shelves collapsed 2 years ago!
Thats a shame about the stress crack line but at least its in the bottom!
I bet it would love fantastic in amber!

  Gorgeous piece, Nige!

It must have been heartbreaking when your blue one broke, but it serves as reminder to me to regularly check the stability of our shelves. One carnival collector had the heavy top carved part of an antique hallstand (or some such) mounted on his wall as shelving, with some extremely rare carnival balanced on top. The whole lot smashed when it fell.
