Today i came across a handkerchief vase had it on good authority that it came from a lady who used to work for chance. The vase its self is made from white glass and printed on the outside completely yellow leaving a band of white around the edge approx 3/8". I did not have a tape measure but i would say it was either the 6" version or 5". I have only ever seen plain glass ones printed with patterns and never just a single block colour. Was this a production model, experimental, or even a frigger. I might be able to get a photo if it is still available tomorrow. To be honest i usually collect pressed glass and bought another item instead your expertise would be appreciated please. Thank you Markl

Sounds like the milk and flashed 'hanky' vases of the late 50's to mid 60's,Davids book page 101,

So what you are saying Keith is that they are made of milk glass then printed over with pattern or colour the same as the clear glass ones. Are these as common as the clear ones its the first i have seen. thanks for the info so far, yours Mark

Hi - I used to collect these years ago and if it is in white glass rather than clear they are harder to find. I have only ever seen a few but not one with solid decoration you mentioned.

Good find

Reply of David, The milk handkerchief vase was either 5½in or 7in (both approximate) and can be dated to c.1955-58.  yellow is the least common colour and 5½in is the least common size. Other colours are red and black
