I would like to ask Craig if his vase/bottle has any grinding on the inside of the neck ? The bottle I have ,has slight grinding on the inside and I now believe that the bottle came with a stopper. I have come across  few pieces that have a  some similarities as these two bottles on the net and  most of them  do come with a stopper. Henry

Hi kane, even though the bottles in these links haven't the same shape I believe their are enough similarities in the bottles to see where I got the idea  that the bottle my mother has  once had a stopper.Plus their is light grinding on the inside of the neck consitant with a stopper  once being in place.

The second link is not really applicable, as the piece being shown is a perfume, and is noticeably smaller.... We have several perfumes by Seguso with stoppers.  I do not relate them to this piece of glass at all....  Both have Seguso labels.

Not a Poli that one in my opinion. Definitely in the style of of his work. Interestingly, item 5982 may be a SVdA conch shell from the 60's. Shame the photo is so poor to get a good look at it. I have seen a clear glass one with the clear SVdA label. Poli has been known to use clear glass with a heaping of gold foil.

Seventh row from the bottom on the far right...

The second link... :thud:...gorgeous...the colour combination says 'you should be sitting on my shelf' and a label as well!!!

I don't think these 2 pieces would have had a stopper though but are definitely vases and not perfum bottles/flakons...

Anita may correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that particular piece of glass in the link in Red with the tall elegant stopper is by Cenedese.
