Hello again I really do believe this is another English one - tell me its another Sowerby and I presume sugar bowl.

Yes, Sowerby, but a sugar bowl seems unlikely. Can't lay my hands on my CDs ATM.

Hi Margi, this is shown on page 20 of their 1954 catalogue, pattern number 2477, simply called "BOAT".  It came in Flint, Amber, Blue and Green.

Just thought I'd better add...my copy of the catalogue has 1954 written on the front in pen (not by me)...however the same catalogue is on the 2nd Sowerby CD as "probably circa 1940's", so mine could be wrong.  :-[
