Did my normal rounds of the charity shops today and picked up three items, two of which I have already identified but this one is proving more tricky. It stands quite tall at 10.5 inches and is very heavy. It has an air of great design about it and feels like a nice piece of glass so I was wondering if anyone could put a name to it for me.

Just identified it as Wedgwood - Brutus by Frank Thrower if Ebay is to be believed. Great if someone in the know could confirm this.

Edit: Confirmed identity now. So that's three out of three and more knowledge (and glass) acquired. :)

Agree it's Wedgwood. It's often sold as a hyacinth vase.
