Topic: Help required identifying my Flygsfors Coquille vase/bowl

Hello  
I am new to this forum and hope that I may be able to find some help in identifying glassware that I have.
I have a Coquille Flygsfors vase? bowl? that I have not been able to identify online so far.
I have attached a picture.
I am thinking of selling the item, but unsure of what price to sell at or start selling at.
I would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

Hi Carla, glad to see you found your way here ok. 

Could do with a larger picture if possible, the thumbnail doesn't enlarge much..

I've seen sculptures like this before, it's not Flygsfors, the closest I've come to ID'ing them is Altaglass of Canada [click here] but there are some obvious differences such as thickness of glass.  It might be a place to start though.  Some other possibilites might be Chalet, also Canadian, or it might be Murano/Italian.

Thanks for the information, however the vase, bowl, states Coquille. I am confused!
I will probably just sell it on Ebay and see what happens.

If it's signed to the base (is there a name too?) it'll probably easily find its own market value on eBay

I don't believe it's Coquille, either. At least, I haven't seen anything Coquille remotely like it. Coquille is usually signed on the base in two places: one says "Coquille" and sometimes the date, and on the other side of the base it says "Flygsfors" or "Kedelv."  It's very easy to get a dremel marker and write Coquille on the bottom, but that don't make it so.  It's not Chalet, but I agree it could be Altaglass, though how it got out of Canada I don't know. There is quite a strong group of Altaglass collectors in Canada, which probably makes it worth more as Altaglass than as pretend Coquille.

As Wayne says we need a much larger picture. Make the longest dimension about 700 pixels and that should work. You have 125kb to use for each picture. We also need a base shot too.

I will add the shape looks poor for coquille bowl as well...and that colour I wouldn't expect either...

Hi there, and welcome to the board!

It would be fantastic to get a photograph of this signature. Are you saying that the bowl is signed "Flygfors Cocquille"? If that's true, the signature is very likely fake.
