Hi,
I'm sure you will find one eventually. It was sold as a celery vase in the 1950s because there was less tax on a celery vase than on a flower vase.  There was even a green crystopal version of the "Carnival" design, but I have never seen the vase in crystopal, only the fruit set. Some of the molds for this pattern were sold to a Czech company after Bagley's closed. The registration number for this design was 8491180 (for November 1946). I'd be interested if anybody has any pieces with the registration number marked.
All the best
Angela

Thanks Angela. I'm still looking online every week. I appreciate the registration number.
Can you please tell me what "crystopal" is?
Best,
Mara

Mara,

Crystopal was Bagley's blue and green "opal glass" introduced in 1947[ref page 20, Bagley Glass, by Angela Bowey and Derek & Betty Parsons] - there's an example of the blue on the Bagley book page here:
http://www.glass-time.com/orderbagleyglassbook.html - the bright blue pieces at the top left of the book cover are Crystopal.

There are more examples in the Wakefield Museums online collection here;
http://www.wakefieldmuseumcollections.org.uk/index.asp?page=item&filename=bagley.mdf&itemId=WAKGMP%20:%20P2002.309 and http://www.wakefieldmuseumcollections.org.uk/index.asp?page=item&filename=bagley.mdf&itemId=WAKGMP%20:%20P2005.10

It's fairly uncommon, especially in the blue I understand.

Hi angela

I am new to the forum so please excuse any errors - I have I believe most of the Bagley carnival set in green having just bought the last item ie cake stand. But I have several pieces with the 849118 reg on it. In fact i believe you bought the blue carnival butter dish off me a few years ago. Would you be interested in the blue cake stand to match ? Let me know. Regards Tracy

Just whilst I think of it, I picked up a blue carnival vase a couple of months ago, which has both the registered design number on the base and the word CELERY on the side, in raised lettering so it was cut into the mould. I'll try and get a picture done as I've not seen one like this before.

Hi Anne, Hi Tracey,
It would be good to see the vase with Celery on it on here, Anne.
And I am always pleased with my blue cheese dish in Carnival pattern, Tracey. I'm trying not to buy any more Bagley glass at the moment, apart from still looking for a pair of Kookaburra wall lights. But it would be nice to see a photograph of the blue cake stand.
All the best
