? Knobbish Small Bowl - Lots of Wear
« on: August 21, 2010, 07:16:07 AM »
:hi: Good Morning Board - Past my bedtime here...LOL

I just bought this (very cheap) and not sure what it is.  Has quite a bit of weight to it, and not sure if you call them knobs, or lobes in order to describe it.  It is about 5.25 wide, and about 3.50 at the tallest point.  The bottom, I must say, has very much extreme wear on it from many years.  To me, that makes it look quite old.  I am not sure if this might be Pilgram, JI. Co (murano), or even Czech glass -- as I do not have a clue.

So much for being the Quiz Champ, as I can not even figure mine out....See, those other were lucky guesses!! LOL

Anyways, any one have an idea on the maker, design, or the year. I am enclosing 2 pics of the base to show the wear.  If you need another pic of the glass knobs/lobes (??) let me know.  I hope this it turns out good.

Thxs as always

Hi Rose my vote is czech when I first saw it I thought AV because of its chunkiness and overall look but second look says not.  AV normally also has a flat base but not 100% concrete it can also be inverted like this.  Anyways I am sure I have had a very similar piece or have but it may be packed away in the trailor.  If I see it I shall have a look in my database.  Anyways sorry if babbled very tired here was a late night.

Thanks Margi -- yeah the base it throwing me off to, but the Base does show very, very good old wear....so it has to be something half decent, and with some good age to it.

Let me know what you find...   :kissy:
