Green Glass heart shaped bowl
« on: August 21, 2010, 10:03:56 PM »
 :hi: I am pretty sure that this is Murano, well at least 90% sure -- now watch, I'll be wrong... :thud:

Green Glass heart shaped bowl.  Very heavy.  About 4.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and about 2 inches tall.  Base shows good wear.  I love the color of it!!!  Anyone have an idea of age, or maker?  Got this for less than $5, so I am Happy about it.  Glass is very thick.  (Maybe) Barbini (??) -- but that is just a Guess here.

Thxs as always...let me know   :X:

Rose: if you see two layers of glass in different colours, or the other one very often colourless (like in the base of a vase), then it is "sommerso". Which is simply a form of the Italian verb sommergere. Means thus: "submerged".
I think.  ::)

I have three of these. All bought together. One has the 'Geniune Venetian Glass' label in red. All three have bullicante of course  ::)

Does this qualify?  Has some clear, then color at the end (??)  when I hold it right (??).  So any thoughts on Age/maker?

I would say no. I would consider it a cased bowl. But others would say otherwise.

"No" for what?
Well, anyhow, if there's a difference between "sommerso" and "cased" please, someone explain?  (****see below
"Bullicante" is intentional bubbles usually in precise order, I think.

Rose; this looks like yours: http://www.glaskilian.de/Schale-Sommerso-Murano-um-1960.43+B6YmFja1BJRD00MyZMPTEuJnByb2R1Y3RJRD01MjMxJnBpZF9wcm9kdWN0PTQzJmRldGFpbD0_.0.html
(It is a pity they have many wrong attributions at least on their "Finland" page so I wouldn't rely on anything. Pity, really)

EDIT:   ****)  I found this:
