Glass Decanter

Was going to garage sale a whole heap of stuff just lying around that we don't really use or display, when my husband said I couldn't get rid of this decanter because he liked it.
I picked it up and said but you only bought it from a garage sale any way for $5.00
He says " yes but I thought it might have been something special, it has a signature".

Sure enough it does. It is signed on the bottom " Nuutajarvi Notsjo 1963"
It's a decanter that is smokey grey coloured, with buildings and words that say " Sydney in the 1840's"

Just wondering if anyone can tell me anymore about this decanter?
I have to admit is is nice and maybe worth keeping after all.

It sounds like you might be Australian.  Do you recognise the street at all?  I would suspect that it is a limited edition for a company that was celebrating 125 years (1963 - 1837 = 126 years).   Does it show street lights?

I suspect it could be AGL (The Australian Gas Light Company (AGL) was formed in Sydney in 1837. It supplied gas for the first public lighting of a street lamp in Sydney in 1841 and was the second company to list on the Australian Stock Exchange.) because the dates are so close.

Nuutajarvi Notsjo is a Finnish firm and I have several pieces that would be from around the 60s period.
