Selkirk info
« on: August 30, 2010, 09:34:20 AM »
Hi there,

I would like to know whether the Selkirk paperweight 'Vision' (Magnum - limited edition of 150 by Peter Holmes - 1995) has a window on the top of the dome? And also how many windows in total on this weight?

I could not find a picture of it on Scotland's Glass (or anywhere else for this matter).

Many thanks.

SophieB

Unfortunately it will be some time until we can tackle Selkirk - still in the progress of finishing Caithness. Many more recent Selkirk catalogues have already been scanned, however (good quality scans of pre-1986 still missing - so if you own any of these catalogues, ....  >:D), and I attach the image from the 1995 catalogue (Vision not shown in 1996ff): a quite unusual facetting - at least 5, more likely 6 facets (3 in the upper section, 3 at the widest circumference, but looks like none right at the top).

Hi Wolf,

Thank you so much. I was hoping that you had an image for this weight.;D .
And no, there does not seem to be a top facet. It is very helpful, indeed.

I do not have any early catalogues for you to scan though...

Cheers

Sophie
