I am fairly certain that this weight that I just bought off Ebay (as a 60s Murano Millefiore) is in fact a Perthshire weight with the same pattern as PP1.  I can find no sign of a 'P' cane.  The centre cane is the same as the canes in the ring one in from the outer edge.  Hoping someone more expert in Scottish weights can confirm my opinion.  Can you estimate a date of manufacture?

Hi

The early examples of these simpler Perthshire weights were not signed.  PP1 pre-1978 are unsigned, and have a fire polished base (yours looks like that).  You don't mention the diameter: if it is about 2 1/2 inch rather than about 3 inch it is a PP2.

Thanks for that Alan.  It has a diameter of c.80mm(3.25") so it would be a pre PP1 with the same pattern I presume.
