I'm a bit of a scrooge when it comes to buying things.

Here is what looks like a Monart bowl, but is it?

It looks like a Vasart to me. I have a few and they seem to come in many diameter sizes.

If Monart (unlikely) the shape is probably Y ref Ysart site.

I think with that domed centre and use of aventurine it is a B029 Vasart, I have one posted on the Ysart forum.

Later made Vasart I think was less likely to be acid etched to base, unfortunately this can have people thinking they have a Monart.

But hey, I am not the expert here. Frank is so post in the Ysart forum and he will give you a definite answer. I think the fact it went for £29.00 tells me it is more likely Vasart than Monart - too many eagle eyes out there LOL

Thanks

It is a shame that I stopped bidding but the highest bidder probably knew what it was anyway.  :)

I think three ghosts are coming to visit me tonight.

Silly me, this topic belong's in the Ysart section.

I had a look in the Monart section of the ysart site. The Y bowl looked like it but I wasn't 100% sure.

It seems not many eagle eyes out there. In fact the lack of mark has worked against it and for the winning bidder. I certainly would have been dubious as it looks very like a B029 form, but I am just lichen peeking up at the huge confusing forest that is Ysart related glass LOL

I should start to surf eBay more ... ah if only I had the time

Frank is it a Y ... if not what shape

Yes it is Y, they can be a little bowed in the centre but not as much as B29.
