i hink, the price was ok - anyway - i will walk my line and i should stay with my claret jugs otherwise i have to build a second storehouse :-)

there is an interesting decanter up for auction in shaftesbury .. anybody near to Semley auctioneers ?

a late C19th Stourbridge Stevens & Williams `rock crystal` engraved glass claret jug with stopper, circa 1885, decorated with exotic birds among flowering shrubs, the engraving probably by John Orchard of a design by Joseph Keller, 13.4ins. (34cms.) high (overall) (see illustration). Footnote - a pair of decanters matching the present claret jug were sold Sotheby`s Olympia, 29th June 2004 (£3,360).

looks very similar to my claret jug !

oh - thats sounds very  :-)
first i will ask them for a condition report - and then .. it would be great to have another expert there who could take a look at it ! of course for a lot of the very finest austrian handmade chocolate and all additional costs this person would have to get there and back home ;-)........ :pb:
