Ruby red and clear simple elegant vase
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:56:13 PM »
OK, Is two in one night OK?

Another my brother's find for my mum.

I quite like this, its simple and elegant.  Although the picture might not show it the vase is a gorgeous ruby red in a clear glass base.  The piccies of the top and base aren't very clear - I'm limited by the camera focus, but the base is plain flat polished slight oval, the top is as though someone has run a hot knife across butter, completely flat and polished, but it does have a very small bevel edge into the middle.  Any ideas as to make, age, value etc. please.

A photo against a plain light background would be better, but it looks like Whitefriars, catalogue number 9571, to me.  What size is it?

Whoops!  Snap, Emmi!   ;D

Ooo...some of you are really good at this aren't you  :rah:

Yes, it's 8" tall and the top is a slight oval about 1" across its longest axis to the outer edges.  It is just such a gorgeous deep ruby red.

I've been to Google it and found it here:

You also have some threads on other colours I see:
