Czech vase or Murano?
« on: September 16, 2010, 07:14:22 PM »
What Ho! I'm rather stuck on this Czech vase ID. It looks more like Hi(er) Sklo than Lo Sklo to me!!
Its 8" tall and 5" at the widest. The base has been flatten and it also has a polished pontil. It spirals up slightly with a 3 lobed base. It is cased in amber which goes up the sides and can clearly be seen in the 3 knobbles. The body is mainly green but fades into some dark blue at the bottom. It is a quality piece and a friend of mine who knows a bit about Czech says its not Chribska? T.I.A. Wolfie

I agree it could be Czech, but I wonder why you're discounting Murano?

What Ho Max! I'd discounted Murano because I think it looks Czech but I could be wrong of course  :)

I've altered the title to ask Jindrich to have a look, when he's got a moment.   :) :)

Hi friends, I am afraid I cannot recognise this vase. I have not seen it here. Possibly not Czech/Czechoslovakian
