Drioli Murano Glass - Wine Bottles
« on: September 22, 2010, 02:42:55 AM »
 :hi:
While rooting around some (as usual, all the time) more in regards to my post of the * Drioli * Glass Duck bottle with 3 labels http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,19500.0.html   I also found another good site.  So I thought I would just post as a separate topic here.  Hope that is ok, and that is not a repeat link -- as I had not seen this link before............and always good to keep as a reference.

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the links Antiquerose.

A note of caution. Don't EVER come to Australia and make a statement like this "While rooting around some (as usual, all the time)" It has a totally different meaning down here.

I used to advise Americans on trips down here on what they can say and can't say. It can get to be very funny sometimes.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.

Whoops, I had to google to see what you mean.  Here when we say it in Canada -- just means like rooting around (like a pig) -- as a pig will dig, and dig with its nose to find something....as in digging in the dirt.

No, no, I did not mean what you guys meant ---- Whoops.  I just found the neat link about the Drioli Bottles -- while I was *digging* away on the Net.

Is that word OK to say :spls:

Wow, didn't know the word "rooting" was so offensive in Australia.  I have learned something new today.  In the U.S. it means the same thing Rose is referring to.

This reminds me when former U.S. president George Bush (1st one) used the peace sign (V sign) in Australia in 1992 to some farmers who were upset with U.S. farm subsidies and the farmers found it insulting when he was really meaning peace.  Now I know of two things NOT to do in Australia. :thud:

P.S. - Rose, thanks for finding the great link!

Lol....I still will    root    , I mean dig around some more...  :pb:

I wonder IF Ann [MOD] wants to add this link for a Reference page -- as I noted she added the other labels from that link to a reference page.
