« on: September 27, 2010, 12:04:59 PM »
ve recently acquired a strombershyttan vase and am curious if anyone can give me information on its origins, when it was made  and who the designer was ,also an idea of its value. The vase looks brand new so i'm surprised to find it has a certain age!!it has it's original ticket, measures 20.5 cms tall and 8.5cms at its largest.its triangulaire made of ice blue glass 1.5 cms thick...the vase is  engraved with a goldfish and facetted seaweeds (really beautifull)  the inscription on the base is  'strombershyttan B868 IL 1150 sweden'
or 'strombershyttan B868 K 1150 sweden' any information would be appreciated

If you are interested in Scandinavian Glass you should get a copy of "Miller's Glass fact file a-z" by Ivo Haanstra.  From there I can tell you the B stands for a vase, 868 is c. 1959 which is the time it was designed.  The K may be an engraver signature and the 1150 a work number - these I do not know the meaning of.  Daniel will no doubt be able to tell you more.
