Archimede Seguso Perfume Set
« on: October 01, 2010, 06:09:32 AM »
Hi All this arrived today. When you buy something like this off photographs you are never sure exactly what condition it will be in when it arrives either through being knocked around during use or by our Aussie Post Socialist levellers.

This one is in perfect condition and is close to as new, apart from the puffer of course.

It is the larger set being about 170mm (6.5") tall in the dabber and each piece weighs approx. 1.3kgs (2-3lbs).

Hope you enjoy this set as I am delighted with it and have been looking for one for a while.

Now if I can get my hands on a set of wall lights at the right price - bliss!  :X:

Oh Ardy, your set is just magnificent!!  The set does appear to be perfect.  Someone really took pride in this set.  I really love the color.  Wow, just Wow!

I too received an AS set yesterday.  The set is two little leaf bowls with the same red label on the bottom.  They look perfect as well.

I also wanted to show you my AS set that is designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co.  I have her famous thumb print bowl and a matching vase.  They are both signed "Elsa Peretti for Tiffany on the bottom and they both contain AS labels.  They are in excellent condition.

Enjoy your vanity set!

Yes I am very happy with them but Alison has already claimed them as hers! Love that Tiffany set and the leaf bowls are lovely.

He does beautiful work that has that Ah! factor, a bit like the Zen monk who asked a young monk to sweep the gravel path and when it was done and completely clean he shook some blossoms from a tree across a bend in the path and exclaimed "Perfect".  :or:

Hi rose thanks for that. I am pretty sure they are a set as the woman I bought them from got them at an estate auction. Still one could have been made by another glass blower. I am sure Seguso didn't blow all this glass himself.

The tops are different as the bubbles go round in a spiral on the dabber and the powder bowl.

I would have thought that a gold top to the atomizer would have been the right thing but you grab what you can rather than what you personally would prefer.

He made these for a fair while so I am guessing 60's for this set but it could have been any time over 20 years.
