Topic: Murano or chinese trio colour ashtrays Skrdlovice? Chribska? Romanian?

Some more ashtrays from hubbys collection.  Are they both Murano, both Chinese or one or the other.  Similar but different if that makes sense.  One of the bases has a slightly bevelled edge the other not.  What do we think please.

We've seen the one on the right on the board before but I can't recall what it was, but someone else will know, I'm sure.

I believe the one on the right is a Murano piece, but I can not remember the house right now. My books are upstairs, and I can not get up there right now.....  maybe Anita will come along....

I do believe the left one is a Chinese knock off..... and I would comment that my opinion is that it s not even a very good one....

I'm not so good when it comes to ashtrays except for the special Fratelli Toso ones. If I remember right, Formia made an ashtray similar. Alas, they have upgraded their site and I can't find a thing on it anymore. I also believe there was a similar Czech design. I looked a bit on Jindrich's site, but couldn't find anything right away. I'll search my own files a bit more to see if I can find the Murano version of the ashtray.

I think it was established on here a year or two ago, with a wobbly degree of certainty, that the piece on the right was from Romania.

Hmm, I remember it as being identified as Czech? I remember thinking it looked similar to the vase on p. 26 of Hi Sklo Lo Skloattributed to Skrdlovice - if you flatten it down into an ashtray, you'd have this shape - but the coloured rims are missing. Apparently Hospodka also designed a similar pattern for Chribska?? Will flag both Czechoslovakian and Romanian in the title to try to attract Jindrich and Robert, who will probably tell me to get off the turps.

Not Chribska and surely not Skrdlovice. Seems to me not Czech

Since my attribution has been linked....I did see another example of this type with a 'Romania' label (I noted it didn't say 'made in') about a month ago at a boot sale...I can't say any of those I've seen with labels are 100% identical to those presented on the GMB, or in fact if they were manucaturer or retailers labels, but the pieces are of same type and would need side by side comparison to be sure if the came from the same maker or not.

i have seen the right one with a " lux glas " label on it - austrian glass about 1960
