Beware of these 'Baccarat'
« on: October 13, 2010, 09:16:04 PM »
***

At least two members of GMB have told the seller that this paperweight and another she is selling are 20th C Chinese, but she is convinced they are Baccarat because 'an auctioneer' / 'Bonhams' have told her so.

To help protect any gullible novice collectors I have reported both to eBay as 'misleading titles'. After a few such reports eBay often end the listings.

I hope eBay listens to you, Alan.  The paperweight in the link you provided is, at least, priced about right and the seller states "is believed to be Baccarat."  The second is just an out-and-out untruth! >:(  The price is too high too!!!!  Rare ..... HA!  About as rare as the hens' beaks in that wonderful 'Varse' listing not too long ago.
