I thought, since Welz had been mentioned here, relative to shape, that I would post a selection of images of Welz pieces in the similar family of shapes... "face" or "knuckle" vases. At least two of these had Welz labels on them. I have linked all of these pieces to Welz production, either through decor or shape...... or both...

I don't know.... but I like it!!!

Some of the work was, in so many ways, ahead of it's time.  Many of the pieces of Czech glass I have were decades early regarding shapes, decors and color combinations....  It is probably one of the things that fascinates me so much about the glass of that period.....  I have pieces of Czech glass that look like they could have been produced yesterday.... and in many cases they are over 100 years old, and most are at least 80 years old......  To me that is so very cool.... timeless....  The genius of great vision and artistry in glass..... I personally think the Czechs, as a whole, did it better than anyone....  Wait until you see the stuff from Welz as a whole picture.... colors and decors that are really amazing..... artistically very unique..... especially as a group of work when you see it together.....
