My first thought is one of the Nordic countries ..... Sweden or perhaps Finland.  You're correct in thinking the 'ghost' is really an owl.

Not sure about the maker -- but then what do I know....

the second one Does look like a Eskimo all bundled up in a big warm jacket (roly poly type of guy), with only his face showing at the top....and the designs on the side, look like designs on the jacket...

As for maker....not sure....maybe the first is a Ghost, or an owl....maybe a *Ghost Owl*.... :thud:

I thought the first one was an Owl too (see my owl: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,33812.0.html ) but then I noticed this Owl here, seems to have a SAD face (see mouth) -- not a Beak for a Face -- So not sure now ???

I had an eskimo exactly the same as the auction above and mine wasn't signed, but I always had it down as Hadeland.   :)
