The rest is atypical for China. A second, a studio piece or a "day hot glass working" piece would seem more likely.

Thanks Guys. I discounted Chinese on the basis of subtlety, but that's only from my experience. Apart from the blotchy red bit at the top I think it's quite nice whatever it's history
