Opaline and opalescent, it looks to me like a large version of tango glass without any decoration.  It is translucent and has a fiery glow when held up to the light.  Mould blown with ground and polished rim. Glass is 5mm thick and it's hollow right down to the base.  10" tall x 7" wide (25.5cm x 18cm) - gorgeous lilac colour but difficult to photograph well - the photos make it look like milk glass but it isn't.  The nearest glass I have to it is my pink tango bowl which looks like the same type of glass.
I've exhausted all my books and can't find anything at all on the net.  I thought perhaps Italian or maybe Bohemian?
help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
m

nice piece - i donĀ“t think that it is " tango " because never seen that colour and actually there would be a black rim or any other small black glass application on tango glass...

another option would be if there was a damage and the black rim has been cut off  :hat:

yes I guess so.  However, it look right, the rim is ground and bevelled and then polished and it just ...well, feels right  :)
But you can see what I mean?  it looks like someone forgot to decorate it  ;D

Looks Czech to me, I would say likely post WWI. Great, and unusual color.  I really like the short piece also.

I don't suppose there is anyway this could have been made by Portieaux or Vallerysthal is there?  sorry if that is way off beam, I've no idea about their glass, but just came across a purple piece and wondered about this.
