This pattern was made very early in the PRIMROSE PEARLINE production
and the design was registered in August, 1890.
Raymond Slack (ENGLISH PRESSED GLASS 1830-1900), provides
documentation that the Blue and Primrose Pearline process
was registered Dec. 1889.
This pattern has become known as the HOBNAIL SUITE
and has also been called the 1891 Suite. Although the pattern
was introduced in August, 1890, it was advertised for the following
production year. This is the first piece I have come across
in HOBNAIL Primose Pearline, and it also came with a matched
frame. There is no Rd. embossed number on the dish.
The frame is marked EPNS 698 on the underside of the frame.
The inset photo shows the hobnails on the underside of the dish.
