Hi, Bought this vase in UK recently and I really need some help please to try and identify where it has come from and the maker. Few photos here:-
http://www.flickr.com/photos/55140067@N07/sets/72157625240575944/It is ice glass and appears to have been molded in three sections, i.e. two halves joined together and then a complete tube shaped slice for the rim piece added after the other two pieces were joined.
Fair amount of age wear to the base and I actually think it is probably ?1920s or 1930s but don't know for sure.
Unusual in that the molding goes 'out' from the vase but also 'in' to the vase so that the inside has all sorts of lumps and angles too.
Around the vase are a panel of four different and very cubist type figures.
My first thought was that it was probably French and even wondered whether it was based on Picasso's Les Demoiselles D'Avignon. Not that the figures are the same but there are certainly some similarities. The person I bought it from said that it had belonged to her very elderly Great Aunt who was very well travelled and had particularly liked both Germany and Australia.
What do you all think?
