Webb for Coventry Cathedral
« on: October 26, 2010, 12:16:06 PM »
I have just bought this small Webb vase and the base (in tiny writing ) mentions Coventry Cathedral.  I assume it was made as a fund raiser for the replacement cathedral built after the war.  Can anyone tell when it is likely to have been made, please.  I included a picture of the Webb signature(sorry it is not too good) which is not one I have seen before as it may help to date it.
I bamle all snileplg eorrrs on the Cpomuter Kyes.  They confuse my fingers !!!

I've certainly seen these before. Afraid I don't know anything about them. I think a religious logo can make things a lot less desirable. It'd be a nice thing without it.  ::)

The acid-etched stamp appears top indicate post-1966, but then they normally have:

THOS           (or... THOMAS, which was later still)
WEBB
ENGLAND

But this appears to be just WEBB - am I right? Prior to 1966 the script logo was used:

Nigel & Jeanette's book says '60s. (p.23.), jp, everything else you said is right.
(I couldn't find the "crown of thorns" cut in the book, earlier. But it's there. ::) )

Thanks for posting your link, David - I couldn't find this script for a Webb mark.
