Bowl....... J.I.Co Label
« on: November 19, 2010, 11:02:28 PM »
:hi: I got this recently.  I am pretty sure it is Murano because it does have the JI.Co label on it.  I am not sure of the maker or the date, but the bottom does show good wear.   It is about 7 inches by 6 inches and almost 3 inches deep.  Has like aventurine blobs in it.  If I were to guess maybe FT or Barbini.....maybe Barbini because of the thickness ???  but I am not sure.

Anyone with any ideas on Maker/age?  (( 1950's or 1960's ?? ))  maybe ?? or not ??

I like it !!   :usd:     Is it JI.Co or J.I.Co. ??

One of the nicer JI Co pieces I've seen. Well done! It's actually Jordan's Importing Company, which usage has abbreviated to whatever we like at the moment. I like JI Co, but I still respect a person who write J.I. Co. It proves they're a better typist than me.

I don't think you'll ever get beyond finding out this is a JI piece. Early 60's would be my guess.

Nice bowl, Rose!  I like the purple color.  If I had to guess at a maker I would lean more towards the FT theory because of the white bottom, the vivid purple color and the avventurina spray in the bowl. You have been collecting some really nice pieces lately.
