Green decanter with raspberry prunts - origin?
« on: October 29, 2010, 02:30:25 PM »
Any opinions as to the age and origin of this decanter are welcome.  Lovely raspberry prunts on the stopper, ground out and polished pontil. There is also a bit of white debris in the glass.  Perhaps Italian early 20th century?  Thanks for looking.

Yes, it does look similar but without any decoration, engraved or enameled.  I looked at a couple of Italian glass catalogs from 2009 and they had decanters with similar prunts on the stoppers.  None of them sold, so I makes me wonder if they were mis-identified by the auction house or if they are like all sorts of decanters - out of favor and no buyers.

Does the decanter glow madly under UV light? - nice thing!
